Research Interests

1) Mechanical properties of advanced materials, including bulk metallic glasses, ultrafine-grained and nano-structured materials.

2) Fracture and strength theory, to reveal the physical nature of fracture and strength for those high-strength materials, including bulk metallic glasses, ultrafine-grained and nano-structured materials, high-strength steels, ceramic and so on.

3) Fatigue damage mechanism of various interfaces, including grain boundaries, twin boundaries, interfaces of lead-free solder/Cu.

4) Fatigue damage and life prediction, including various engineering materials, such as Al alloys, Cu alloys, high-strength steels, super-alloys and so on.

Publications

He has published more than 300 papers in international SCI journals, including Nature Materials, Nature Communications, Progress in Materials Science, Physical Review Letters, Acta Materialia, which have been cited more than 6000 times by SCI papers. In addition, he has given more than 30 invited talks in International Conferences.
